A DIFFERENT WAY TO FRAME | ||||

Just consider cutting steel framing members one at a time, laying them out just as you would a wood frame, and screwing the members together with a screw gun. It is not surprising that this in-efficient methodology results in high prices for steel framing. Tomorrow's Home Inc. uses computer controlled manufacturing equipment to increase efficiency and make steel framing cost competitive with wood framing. Your home is designed in Chief Architect and all the framing members are laid in line. That means that ceiling and roof framing members line up directly over the wall framing members. Then a computer disk that contains complete information about every framing member in your home is generated. This disk is used to control a roll-former that produces the framing members for your home in the order that the workmen will be assembling them. The framing members have holes punched for the rivets we use to assemble your framing. Every thing lines up perfectly. Our tolerances are plus or minus 1/16 of an inch. That's right, your home is built just as it is drawn. Technology applied to home building is increasing efficiency and lowering costs. Why frame your new home with wood when we can frame it in steel for about the same cost? |

There is a difference in steel framing. Most builders who use steel framing use it just like they have used wood framing for the last 75 years. That's why steel framing has traditionally been twice as expensive as wood framing. It just does not have to be.
